DAY 02
Istanbul

Today’s morning will be at leisure, and at noon meet your private guide in the hotel’s lobby and depart for a half day private sightseeing tour.  During the tour, you will visit the ancient Roman Hippodrome, Hagia Sophia Church, the Blue Mosque and famous Grand Bazaar.

Hippodrome: The ancient Hippodrome is an enormous public entertainment arena that once seated as many as 100.000 zealous fans witnessing chariot races, executions, and mock battles.
Once the centre of Byzantine civic life, it is still decorated by the Egyptian Obelisk, the Bronze Serpentine Column, and the Column of Constantine.

Blue Mosque: Built between 1609 and 1616, the Sultan Ahmet Mosque is more familiarly known as the Blue Mosque because its interior gleams with magnificent panels of blue and white 17th Century Iznik tiles. Located near Topkapi Palace, it was considered the Supreme Imperial Mosque during Ottoman Istanbul.

Hagia Sophia: This famous basilica was constructed in the 6th century A.D. It is often described as the greatest work of Byzantine architecture. Once the Church of Holy Wisdom, Christendom’s crowning glory, and now a museum, it glittered with mosaics, and art treasures filled every corner. Today, Haiga Sophia is the forth largest building made as a church in the world. It was dedicated to the Hagia Sophia which means the Divine Wisdom, an attribute of Christ.

Grand Bazaar:  The area of the Grand Bazaar was a trade center during the Byzantine period.  Two bedestens (domed masonry structures) were built by Sultan Mehmet the Conqueror to enrich the economic life in the city.  Later on as people needed more places for trade, they added other buildings outside these structures.

You will return to the hotel in the late afternoon and have an evening at leisure.

DAY 03
Istanbul

In the morning meet with your guide at the hotel’s lobby and depart for full day tour.  First you will drive to one of the most romantic sea-front quarter of Istanbul – Bebek.

Bebek which has one of the most beautiful coasts of the Boshporus is a privileged district of Istanbul where you can smell the Boshporus weather, enjoy great view and go for a walk along the Strait.   It is claimed that the most ancient name of this district which is estimated to date back to before Christ as a small fishing village, was Hallai which is a distorted form of the word Skallai (docks), stated in various resources as Challae, Chilai, Khile as well.  In modern times, this pretty quarter is favored by romantics of all ages.

Here we will have chance to savor the trade-mark small tastes of Bebek – you can choose among traditional ice-cream, waffle or tea and toast at Bebek Café.  Many Istanbulites would claim that these are the best of their kind in the city.

After we will ride a small fisherman boat and sail along Bosphorus Strait (if the weather conditions are bad, we will drive along the coast line).  Bosphorus is a narrow, navigable strait between Europe and Asia connecting the Black Sea to Marmara Sea.  Along both shores are many attractions including ancient ruins, picturesque villages, wooden houses and forested areas.

We will disembark at picturesque sea-front old city quarter of Ortakoy.  Because of its very special location, it has been favored by Istanbul residents since Ottoman times.

Among historical buildings there are the baroque-style Ortakoy Mosque, Esma Sultan Palace, built for an extraordinary Ottoman princess, and the remains of Etz Ahayim Synagogue.  Now the lively streets of Ortakoy are dominated by various craft-work sellers, restaurants and cafes.  You can buy a memorable present for your loved one here.  After strolling through this quarter, you can have a lunch on own at one of the numerous sea-front restaurants.

After lunch we will continue Dolmabahce Palace.  This palace was the residence of the last 6 Ottoman Sultans. The Palace was built in the mid-19th century by order of Sultan Abdul Mecit I. The Sultan’s architect was given the order that building should “surpass the palace of any potentate anywhere in the world.” The architect certainly fulfilled the order! The facade of the palace stretches for more than 1.200-feet on European shores of the Bosphorus.

Its vast reception salon, with 56 columns and a huge crystal chandelier, weighting four and a half tons and lit by 750 lights, never fails to astonish visitors.

Next you will drive to city’s modern center – Taksim Square.  From here you will start walking tour of Istiklal Street.  This pedestrian street is the heart of Istanbul’s modern city center, where one can feel the dynamic vibe of metropolis life.  Perhaps every resident of Istanbul had a date starting at Istiklal.  On the both sides of Istiklal Street there are many fancy shops, restaurants, bars and night clubs which are the most favored entertainment options for locals and the guests of the city.

We will walk through Istiklal to its other end – Tunel area.  Small side streets of this area are filled with bohemian pubs and cafes, preferred by local intelligencia.  We will stop at one of them for a tea/coffee break before returning to the hotel and having evening at leisure.

DAY 04
Istanbul

After breakfast, depart for a full day tour of the Princes Islands.  An archipelago that consists of nine islands is just a few miles from Asian Istanbul in the Marmara Sea. It is less than an hour by boat from the center of the city. You can walk or tour the streets of the islands, restaurants or cafes in this beautiful atmosphere. There are no cars on the islands, making life there very peaceful.

During the Byzantine period, the islands were collectively a religious center with many monasteries. The name “Princes' Islands” derives from the princes sent there in exile. During the Ottoman period, non-Moslem groups were attracted to the islands.  Today, all nine islands form a municipality. The municipal government is based in Buyukada, the largest of all. Buyukada and the other large islands Heybeli, Burgaz, and Kinali all have permanent settlements.

From the Marmara Sea you will reach Buyukada on a public boat.   During the transfer you will also enjoy the magnificent view of the Leander's tower, the Asian part of Istanbul, the historical peninsula and view the Topkapi Palace complex from the sea.  After reaching the island, you will tour it in a horse-drawn carriage before lunch at a sea-front fish restaurant. In the late afternoon, you will return to the hotel.  In the evening, you will transfer by luxury vehicle for a romantic dinner on own at up-market restaurant, overlooking the Bosphorus Strait.

The Underwater Archeology Museum:  Bodrum Museum of the Underwater Archeology is located inside the Bodrum (St. Peter) Castle.  Opened in 1960, the museum is recognized as one of the finest of its kind in the world.

The remains of Mausoleum: King Mausolous' Tomb (4th century B.C.), or the Mausoleum, was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.  Constructed to honor the memory of the ambitious king who ruled Halicarnassus and was awarded the Persian title of Satrap, it was built by his widow after his death.
